Light Oak School 121

Subject Information

Below are a list of curriculum documents which you can download. These are the documents which our teachers use to plan and assess learning.

Our curriculum follows the National Curriculum which can be found HERE.  All subjects are compulsory.  However, parents have the right to withdraw their children from RE and the sex education part of our wellbeing curriculum.  Please note however:

  • Our RE curriculum is not biased towards any particular religion and is delivered in a way that develops understanding of and compassion for all religions and none.
  • Our sex education program is delivered in a careful and supportive way and has been developed to ensure children have basic knowledge before High School.

We would, however, ask parents to consider withdrawal very carefully, as the learning will continue with the remaining children in the class.  It is therefore likely that any information learned will be passed on to those who are withdrawn.  We would therefore recommend that you allow your children to learn in class from trained professionals who are able to deliver these subjects with compassion, understanding and in a factual and clear way.

If you require any further information about our curriculum, please do not hesitate to contact us using the contact us page, or speak to any member of staff.
