School Meals

Parents can choose to order a school meal or provide a packed lunch for their children.  This can be changed on a day to day basis and school does not need to be informed in advance.  This gives parents the flexibility to pick and choose which meals to provide, and which to order each day.

Mid Morning Snack

Children may bring in fruit and a small, non-fizzy drink for snack time. Parents can also pay for milk.  Please ask at the office about the cost and how to order.

Water

We encourage children to keep hydrated throughout the day, so please supply a small water bottle (these are available to buy at the school office).  Children can refill in school whenever needed.

School Lunches

All school lunch payments are made via the MyEvolve Hub. Parents must order and pay for lunches before 9.30am on the day they are having the lunch. Lunches can be ordered and paid for in advance - you can order and pay for a whole half term, a week or just a day. This gives the flexibility to choose to take lunches on any day, rather than for a whole term. Please note that we cannot let debt accrue on school lunch accounts. If you are having difficulty with anything on the system, or need to speak to someone about school lunches, please speak in confidence to Mrs Lever in the office (in person, or on 0161 921 1690) who may be able to help.

A school lunch is currently £2:10 and water is provided every day. Typically there will be a choice of:

  • a hot meal
  • A vegetarian hot meal
  • a baked potato with a choice of filling
  • A sandwich

There will also be a choice of dessert including fruit.  Our kitchen can accommodate a variety of dietary needs, so please let us know what you require if this will be a consideration.

Free School Meals

Lots of our families are entitled to Free School Meals.  Once parents have applied and received confirmation that they have been granted this benefit, parents order in the same way using MyEvolve Hub.  There is no distinction at the dinner hall between free meals or paid for meals – children are not made to feel different and have the same choices as those who pay for meals.  If you are entitled to this benefit, we would strongly advise you to take this up.

Where can I get more information about applying for Free School Meals?

If you are not sure whether your child is eligible for Free School Meals or would like more information about how you should go about claiming an entitlement, please contact Mrs Lever at the school office, in confidence. Information can also be found on Salford City Council's website here.

Packed Lunches

We encourage packed lunches to be healthy and would ask that you do not provide children with lots of crisps, cakes, biscuits or sweets.  Fizzy drinks are not allowed.  Please make sure that school lunch bags or boxes are as small as possible so they fit on our packed lunch trays.
